Class 73 Open working hunter lead rein pony not exceeding 123cms. Rider under 8 years on 1st of January 2011.
Class 74 Open Cradle stakes working hunter pony not exceeding 123cms. Rider under 11 years on 1st of January 2011.
Class 75 Novice starter stakes working hunter pony not exceeding 133cms. Rider under 12 years on 1st of January 2011.
Class 76 Open starter stakes working hunter pony not exceeding 133cms. Rider under 12 years on 1st of January 2011.
Class 77 Open & Novice 133cms working hunter pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider under 14 years on 1st January 2011. Novice Ponies to jump first.
Class 78 Open & Novice 143cms working hunter pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over – exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms. Rider under 17 years on 1st January 2011. Novice Ponies to jump first.
Class 79 Open & Novice 153cms working hunter pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider under 20 years on 1st January 2010. Novice Ponies to jump first.

Qualifier

1. For pure bred Connemaras 4yr old and over registered with the CPBS Adult Stud book. This class will be marked using I.P.S marking system with 8-10 fences being marked out of 10 for each jumping effort, 20 marks for way of going and a short flat phase showing walk, trot, canter, and gallop.
2. Confirmation, manners, movement, performance and type will also be judged in the second phase.
3. 3 ponies to qualify at each of six venues and a fourth if judge decides standard high enough. Course height will range from 95cm to 110cm
4. Stallions must have a letter of permission from I.P.S to compete and be ridden by a rider 14yrs or older on the 1st Jan 2011
5. Qualifying place will move down if a pony has already qualified.
6. No bitless or gag bits allowed and boots must be removed for the second phase.

International Connemara Performance Qualifier for Oughterard on Saturday 27th August, 2011.
For Working Hunter under 16 and over 16 will be awarded from classes 80 & 81.
For Ridden Stallion over 14 will be awarded from class 83.

Rules & Conditions
1. Qualifying rounds will be held at designated shows.
2. Only ponies 4 years old and over are eligible,
3. More than one pony in each qualifying class may be selected to compete in the final provided the judges agree that the standard is high enough.
4. Pony and / or Rider once qualified are not eligible to participate in subsequent qualifiers. This rule may be waived by the Show Committee in exceptional circumstances e.g. sale of pony of injury of rider prior to final. Permission from the Oughterard Show Committee must be granted prior to any previously qualified pony or rider competing in subsequent qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will result in the entry not being accepted.
5. On completion of judging at Qualifiers the successful qualifier will be given all relevant entry documentation by the ring steward. This must be completed and returned, along with appropriate fee, to the secretary of the Oughterard Show within 7 days – this rule will be strictly adhered to.
6. The Connemara Passport of each pony must be presented prior to judging at the qualifying show and on the day of the Final.
7. The rider must be 18 years on the 1st of January 2010. Birth Certificates must be produced for inspection at qualifying rounds and on the day of the final.
8. Registered Connemara Stallions must be ridden by rider over 14 years and under 18 years on 1st of January 2010.
9. Ponies must be registered in the Main Connemara Studbook
10. Jumping over plain rustic fences will be part of the qualifying rounds and final. Qualifying rounds require 2 fences. The final requires 4 fences. Jumps should not exceed 90cms in height and 90cms in width. Entrants from shows who not adhere to this rule will not be accepted.
11. Ponies to be ridden in a Plain Snaffle, Pelham or Double Bridle. Boots are allowed for the jumping phase only, and must be removed prior to the in-hand or Flat Sections. Martingales and spurs are prohibited.
12. A performance judge must be used at qualifying shows.
13. Ponies will be judged on type, Confirmation, Jumping Technique, way of going and action in-hand.
14. Random Dope testing may be carried out on the day of the final.
15. Any objection must be lodged in writing with the show secretary within half an hour following the completion of the competition, together with €50, which is refundable in the event of the objection being upheld.
16. The Oughterard Show committee in consultation with the sponsor, reserves the right to amend the rules as may be deemed necessary.
